or Command+Option+Shift+Delete (Mac OS)
To remove a photo from a collection as well as from the catalog, select the photo and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift+Delete (Mac OS). See Remove photos from a collection.
If you simply want to have a clean view (ie only seeing the fotos you want to tweak) use flags and ratings and then filters to show only what you want to see.
Shortcuts:
P -> for pick (flag)
U -> Unpick
X -> Reject (Rejects are pictures that are not suitable, unfocused or otherwise unusable. At some point in my work-flow, I delete those)
