Thank you very much for downloading NX Studio. Please read the following last minute important information, which may not be included in Help.
1. Viewing RAW images
1.1 Previews and thumbnails for unedited pictures are created from data generated for the purpose when the pictures are taken. Consequently when the “Latest Picture Control” option is selected, the colors in previews and thumbnails may differ from those in pictures displayed after NEF (RAW) processing.
1.2 To get an accurate view of the results of the adjustments applied to an image, you must view the image at 100% zoom or larger.
2. Spherical 360° content shot with the KeyMission 360
If rotated, cropped, or straightened, spherical 360° content shot with the KeyMission 360 cannot be viewed properly in KeyMission 360/170 Utility.
3. WCS profile
If a WCS profile has been selected as an output profile such as a monitor profile, some functionality, such as displaying images or playing videos, may not work properly.
4. About Focus point display
4.1 The Focus point may not be displayed on images saved in Capture NX 2.
4.2 The Focus point will not be displayed correctly on pictures to which perspective control or fisheye adjustments have been applied.
5. Print
When you print an image with the "Crop images to fit" check box selected on the Page Layout dialog, some part of the metadata information or the edges of the image may not be printed even though you see them properly on the preview.
6. Behavior when selecting a folder that contains a large number of image files
If you select a folder that contains a large number of image files, it may take a long time to display their thumbnails. It may also be time-consuming to display their thumbnails if you select a folder that contains subfolders with a large number of image files when the setting to display images from subfolders is selected.
7. Playing videos
7.1 Videos created at 30p, 50i, 50p, 60i, and 60p may not play smoothly under certain circumstances.
7.2 If you are on a Windows computer, 4K videos may not play smoothly even in the recommended environment depending on the capabilities of the graphics card.
7.3 AVI files that were recorded with the COOLPIX models listed below may not play with NX Studio. In this case, please use another media player such as one shipped with the operating system. You can refer to Help to find out how to launch another media player from NX Studio (Windows only).
(L19, L20, L21, L22, L23, L24, L100, P90, S70, S203, S205, S220, S230, S570, S620, S630, S640, S1000pj, S2500, S2550, S3000, S3100, S4000, S4150, S5100)
7.4 If you install NX Studio on a Windows computer that is not connected to the Internet, the video playing feature will not be installed. To use the video playing and video creating features, install NX Studio on a computer with an Internet connection.
7.5 If you are using NX Studio with a Windows computer, resizing the window while playing a video may cause erratic playback.
8. SlideShow
8.1 Playing a slideshow for a long time may cause the playback to stop (Mac only).
8.2 If another application, such as a screensaver, starts while a slideshow is playing, the playback of the slideshow may stop.
9. Editing videos (Movie Editor)
9.1 Only TrueType fonts are supported for setting texts for videos/images. You can check the font type of a font from the property of the font file. Font files can be accessed by selecting Fonts from Control Panel (Windows only).
9.2 When you preview a video on a Retina display, inserted texts do not smoothly change from one to another during transitions (connecting clips by which videos or images are combined). The text in the final output will however be rendered smoothly (Mac only).
9.3 If the format of the destination drive is FAT32, videos that are larger than 4GB cannot be saved.
9.4 If too many still images with short duration or too many transitions/texts are added, creating a 1920 x 1080 video can place a large load on system resources. If you experience problems creating a video in such circumstances, please try some solutions to reduce the load, such as reducing the number of such still images/transitions/texts, or changing the size (resolution) to 1280 x 720 (Windows only).
9.5 If you are on a Windows 8 or later computer, the storyboard preview and the created video may contain one or more portions without audio (approximately 0.5 to 1 second).
10. Declining access in the event that macOS displays a permission dialog may cause unexpected results. To restore normal operation, go to “System Preferences” > “Security & Privacy” > “Privacy” and enable the NX Studio check boxes in “Photos” and “Automation”.
11. Customers who wish to use the NX Studio “Show Image Immediately After Shooting” option with Camera Control Pro 2 will need to update to Camera Control Pro 2 version 2.34.0 or later.
12. Specialized codecs are required when viewing H.265 videos and HEIF and HLG NEF photos. To download the codecs, you will need the serial number of a Nikon camera that supports the format in question. The codecs can be installed by following the on-screen instructions displayed when you view an H.265 video or HEIF or HLG NEF photo (Windows only).
13. Thumbnail display and preview are not available with NEV video.
14. Thumbnail display and preview are not available with ProRes RAW video (Windows only).
15. As of version 1.2.0, the “Map” feature has been removed.
16. As of version 1.2.0, the “Upload to YouTube” feature has been removed.
17. If you simultaneously use NX Studio with Picture Control Utility 2, you may not be able to edit or delete Custom Picture Controls added to the computer. Start NX Studio after quitting Picture Control Utility 2.

Nikon Transfer 2 Version 2.19.0 (Windows)
1. If Primary Destination/Backup Destination folder already contains files with the same name
If the Primary Destination/Backup Destination folder already contains files with the same name as files you are transferring, instead of being overwritten, the files are given trailing numbers to their names (for example: DSC_0001_1.JPG, DSC_0001_2.JPG) during transfer. If the "Backup files" checkbox is selected, both the Primary Destination folder and the Backup Destination folder are checked for files that may have the same name as files to be transferred. If identically named files are found, trailing numbers are added to the names of the files to be transferred. The trailing numbers added to the file names are the same for both the Primary Destination folder and the Backup Destination folder.
2. Date Shot
Images modified after their shooting dates are transferred to folders that are different from the ones dated with their shooting dates, even though you chose "Date Shot" in the Folder Naming dialog when you specified the folder names. This is because the application actually transfer images to folders created based on their creation dates, instead of their actual shooting dates. Please make sure that the date and time is set correctly on your camera before shooting.
3. Images taken in continuous high-speed mode (Windows only)
If you transfer images that were taken in continuous high-speed mode and rename them with their dates/times shot during the transfer, the new file names may not be in the order of the actual dates/times shot because subtle discrepancies may occur between the actual times of shot and the times used in the file names.
4. SD memory card (Mac only)
All images are treated as “protected” during the transfer operation if the memory card is locked.
5. Camera date and time (Mac only)
Camera date and time synchronization does not work when the OS uses a non-Gregorian calendar.
6. Using “Disconnect automatically after transfer” when a mass storage device is connected
If you transfer data from multiple memory cards inserted in a mass storage device, a removable disk device button will be displayed for each mounted memory card when you connect the device to your PC. If the “Disconnect automatically after transfer” option is selected, all the memory cards will be automatically unmounted after the transfer operation from the first memory cards is completed. If you want to continue to transfer data from the rest of the memory cards, de-select the option before performing operation to prevent all the memory cards from getting unmounted after each transfer.
7. Some of the thumbnail images of the files that are being transferred may not be displayed during the transfer operation.
8. If you use an XMP/IPTC preset created with Nikon Transfer 2 version 1.2.9 or earlier, the field "Event" in the preset will be unchecked. Please check the field as necessary.
9. When some cameras are connected to a computer via PTP, if you turn off the device button of the connected camera in Nikon Transfer 2 temporarily and then turn it on, the images saved in the camera are not displayed and the transfer operation cannot be performed. In that case, please turn the camera off once, then turn it on, and then try again. (Mac only)
10. With the following cameras, some thumbnail images saved in the camera may not be displayed when the camera is connected to the computer via PTP. In that case, if you deselect the device button of the connected camera once and select it again, all the thumbnail images may be displayed. (Mac only)
D3300/D5300/D7100/J3/J4/J5/S1/S2/V3/AW1
11. With some cameras, transferring a file with 4GB or larger may fail when the camera is connected to the computer via PTP. In that case, please insert the memory card that contains the file into the camera used for shooting, then connect to the computer and transfer the file.
12. Thumbnails of the images taken in portrait orientation are displayed in landscape orientation. (Mac only)
13. Declining access in the event that macOS displays a permission dialog may cause unexpected results. To restore normal operation, go to “System Preferences” > “Security & Privacy” > “Privacy” and enable the Nikon Transfer 2 check boxes in “Photos” and “Automation”.
14. Some time may be required to copy pictures in high volumes or large numbers. We recommend dividing the pictures up into multiple batches when doing so.
